Already thinking of plans for the field exercise! Will be dragging the MUTT
a.k.a. Self-Propelled GRC-106 to Beltsville Lake State park on Friday for
the field operations.
Going to assume that we will do the 5357 USB pack net with radios around
Beltsville lake again. In the last couple years have done back packs and
mobiles from the different boat ramps, pavilions and all around the park
along with comms back to the Fair Grounds.
Going to assume we will be using 51.0 FM for a coordination Net and maybe
some 144.25 VHF AM. 3885 is always popular for a AM calling channel and
would be interested in if anyone else has any ideas on what else we can do?
Think the only rule is that it has to be somewhat portable and no use of
outside power.
The MUTT is somewhat overkill for a backpack Net but it has the advantages
of having radios for all the frequencies that we will be using.
With the MUTT back at Gilbert will be doing the M & S Net and the MMRCG Net
on Saturday morning and may try to get to Gilbert early enough on Thursday
to do the M & S Net.
Maybe this can be the year of portable RAT operations from MRCA? The biggest
problem has been that in the past that there is some weird noise or
interference at the Howell building that has affected operation on a lot of
bands.
May want to try RTTY on 7080 on Saturday morning before the MMRCG Net but
don't know who or if anyone may be on that day.
Just to try to get others thinking about the event, you can see some of the
pictures from back in 2019 at:

That's on a web server that I have here at work but think it should be
visible off campus, lets see what everyone else thinks.
