A Cootie, or Sideswiper cannot be used for an electronic keyer as both sides connect to the same contact. 73 – Mike

Looks like there are a couple of "relay" keyers being built, one complaint is that the builders do not have a side paddle key.
Easy to make one from a couple of straight keys - - - see below. I will look for a picture of a "Cootie" key which is very easy to make and and post that later. The base was made by pouring molten lead into a sardine can. Be careful with the lead, wear a face shield, gloves etc. when pouring
