I too have a complete collection of QSTs, but was not going to go through them to find a solution. To me, it was obvious from Breck’s first post, essentially immediately when he talked about relays and when I saw the parts list. 73 – Mike

Well Jeep resolved the mystery project by looking up the article in his massive QST collection. BTW the ARRL HQ site has all the QST's articles available in PDF format including the famous "Hints and Kinks" column and they maintain a very efficient search engine to search for articles. Below is a board progress photo depicting one of my favorite construction techniques using blank copper clad board and creating groves for different soldering pads. The soldering pads will allow easy change out of parts as the circuit is tested.
