Nothing was too good for ole’ Curt. I have a Dzus rail mount AM BC radio with four preset buttons, completely solid state. No navigation function, just 550-1600 kHz coverage with line level audio out.
Early germanium solid state, made by Belmont radio. Serial number 001. Pulled from a panel I believe came from a C-97. Worlds most expensive car radio.

There is a simple conversion article on the RT-209/PRC in the June 1968 issue of 73 Magazine, available online from several places.
I've had one for decades. It shows the characteristics sign of USAF gear...magnicently overdesigned and doubtless very expensive for its simple role in Base Air Police service. A joy to look at...but I wouldn't have approved its acquisition if I had been in the approval chain.

Just on the Fair site....they have two PRC-21s but both are out of stock. I will check back with them next week. Thanks for the heads up!
