I got the used dial zero assembly in today. Looks like the one from the radio had a spring added for some reason. ( maybe the plate clamper mech didn't work right?)  the spring would not allow the plate to totally fall away from the clutch pins. when disengaged, causing the tuner to bind.
Golden screwdriver strikes again!

From the day I purchased this radio, the dial zero mech was messed up or missing parts or who knows what!It was dragging on the tuning system and does not properly operate the clutch. I inverted the pressure plate to disable the thing
However , I would really like to be able to calibrate the dial!
The R-392 manual I have show what seems to be a push-in type mechanism which disengages the clutch.
The one I have is a different screw-in type. anybody have the detail for this type and/or replacement parts?
It's a Stewart Warner ser # 4716M
