Mystery Radio MRCA Digest, Vol 204, Issue 21
What a funny little radio! I don't know what it is. But it reminds me of
US Navy dock-to-ship voice-only radios, going back to the 1930s (30 MHz +-
then). This would be at least 1960s, VHF. Maybe solid state? (Judging
from the cooling fins). It would appear to be US made but it might be
British. Maybe someone at the British Vintage Wireless Society could help.
An internet search on any unique numbers might help. I can't make much out
in the photo. It does look like a rack-mount with its handles.
Of course, it's always possible it is a no-label CIA or MI6 spy radio, for
US/UK use or for friendlies somewhere. But again I have not seen anything
like it. Maybe check with the DC NSA Spy Museum?
Good luck and if you do ID it, please post!
