That's kind of how I am seeing it, don't anticipate much operation beyond morning nets and maybe some work on trying to connect to all the list members on that day. Have to vacate the state park around eight that evening so don't see being on the air over night or anything like that. Also expect to have a couple people stopping by and if I can get any additional Hams there may try playing around with pack radios.
If nothing else would like to accomplish the following tasks:
MMRCG/MRCA SSB Nets
RAT from the field using the GRC-106
Connecting with your group at Camp Evans and High Point State Park group. Think we may also have group up at Port Clinton.
Attempt 51.0 VHF QSO beyond line of sight
Figure if I can accomplish this that's a success for me, don't have a burning desire for contact counts.
For the VHF QSO the big question is if we can get everyone to run horizontal using beams or in my case log periodic? Think there may be some advantage to using H polarization over vertical but as said before propagation is not a thing I understand. Will be setting up regular inverted V antennas for 60 and 40 and playing around with the whip for twenty meters.

Hi Ray,
I'd like to suggest we use 60-meters, Channel-3, 5357 USB, for coordination here on the East Coast. Walt tells me we're not supposed to "contest" on 60, but we can certainly use it for intercom.
I'm not sure exactly what I (we?) are going to do at Camp Evans, but should at least be on HF.
I'm thinking this may turn out to be more like an expanded Gilbert Field Exercise than a contest.
Looking forward to it,
Al

Did not get on RTTY Saturday morning being had a lot of other stuff going on. But was able to finish up and do testing on the portable RTTY set up for this weekend. Now have an interface put together that controls and runs ASFK thru the GRC-106, unfortunately had to use a consumer Dell laptop being in order to run the software need at least 1 GHz processor and sound card so I will have to start looking for something like a used Miltope or maybe a Panasonic Tuffbook to keep everything mill spec.
Think I will be on site at Fort Miles Saturday morning around eight or nine but will have a lot to do with getting power worked out and setting up the antennas but will try to make morning RAT Net but in case I can't get it together can we set a second time for Military RAT? Maybe something like 14:00 after the MMRCG and MRCA Net.
I can bring out the Log Periodic for 51.0 and aim it north being almost everyone will be north of my location but don't think I can get that set up much before 16:00 so maybe we can do an agreed upon 51.0 calling time of 16:30 or 17:00
And do we want to designate a couple Net voice channels? Maybe 60 meters, with a possible twenty-meter backup depending on what propagation looks like that day.
