I meant angles you can tilt the vertical over for more of an NVIS operating orientation.

How do you orient for different NVIS angles?

Hi Mark,

My mistake, sorry. I just checked and was confused because I have a pin spring base which has a detachable top section which screws into the tilt whip adaptor. My whole unit came off of an MRAP and I have not used the tilt adaptor specifically because it does not have the thumb screw locking collar at the bottom but instead has the threaded female end, which is more difficult to orient for different NVIS angles.

Hi Mark,

Your tilt adaptor is missing the bottom piece. Tilt adaptors like the one you have were used recently on MRAPs and unfortunately are not quite like the ones we are used to seeing.

I happen to have one so I am sure of this. Mine has the short bottom piece which is about five inches long and has the male thread for the tilt base on one end and the standard AS-1011 female thread on the other end. This obviously differs from the usual thumb when clamp end on the bottom, which is what I wish I had.

Best,

I purchased a large lot of AT-1011 masts, bases adapters and various other aluminum masts and have this tilt adapter that is smaller than what I call the standard adapter, it also has a different thread on the bottom female thread end. My questions are 1 what application or base is this used with ?, 2 does anyone need this and have a standard tilt adapter they would trade for ? and 3 does anyone know the specs for the acme(?) thread on the AT-1011 standard base so I could perhaps have a shop make an adapter to be able to use this tilt adapter ?

Thanks

Mark
