[MRCA] Usefulness of a PRC-113?

I use my recently acquired PRC-113 to monitor air traffic here in the NY region (Republic Airport).  Most do not know this but as a very young man I did a brief stint as an ATC Specialist.  Listening to local traffic... brings back memories.  
That's about all I use it for but as someone else said... it is a nice looking radio.
