Here is a quote from an ad for one that was for sale.

"Vintage Rare 1940's Galvin Mfg. Corp. Motorola Toy "Handie Talkie"
Radio with Original Box and Inserts This is the whole deal. The Galvin
Mfg. Corp preceded Motorola in Walkie Talkies. Galvin made the ones used
in WWII and this toy is a replica of those used in the War. The toy is
made of plastic. There is one crack and that is in the ear piece. The
antenna is intact and will pull out and push in. The " If you blow into
the moth piece, there is supposed to be a siren."
