[MRCA] Motorola Handie Talkie

Looks like it came out of a Cracker Jack Box! perhaps some weird post WW2 public service - fire thing? thing about that is I thought by the late forties Motorola, GE and RCA were already selling public services Low Band VHF radios and a HF radio would have been useless in the market?
