[MRCA] PRC-74 Finals

Has any PRC-74 owners had any luck replacing the final transistors with 2N2876 transistors? I have read where this has been done successfully but I have not enjoyed that success. They do transmit fine but there appears to be a drive issue that can't be adjusted out. Looking for tips if anyone has done this.
