someone posted a link to a British group that modified a BC1000 to 6 meters. Search your emails for BC1000 and it should come up.It was a matter of changer the padding caps on the trimmers to a lower value.H suggested cutting the "hot side" of the original cap only, leaving it stored there in the event that one might want to reverse the mod for some reason.Seemed pretty simple to do, then the trimmers are in range of 6 meters.
