[MRCA] [MMRCG] EF-16 Field Wire

The Able Archer 83 event will be located at Davidsonville Maryland on November 9th and 10th.  It’s a great event where everyone gets together and using Cold War era equipment and the call sign W3A and make a bunch of contacts.
The main operating location will be inside the Ham Clubs building in a space that use to be the launch control center for when it was an active missile site. Last year I drug out the M151A1 with the GRC-106 and operated from around maybe a hundred feet away from that building and did things like the Moose & Squirrel Net and look forward to doing both the 40 meter MMRCA Net and the M&S Net with the W3A call this year.
The idea of the phone is that I can use it to work with the people in the main building to check what bands they are working and the like without having to walk between the two locations. Also the huge heavy four wire field phones are the right time frame for the event. Although TA-312 or TA-43 would be good too I don’t have any so the big four wire sets are going to be what I am going to try to work with. And unlike the old T-43 you don’t have to crank the phones in the four wire mode. Or so I have been told, still have to stuff them full of batteries and play around with them maybe this weekend. This will be my first experience playing around with the four wire sets like the TA-838

One of the best things about operating from Davidsonville will be that I won’t have to use the MEP-025 generator being there are plenty of places to get electricity on the outside of the buildings and will use a one hundred foot extension cord and the external power supply for the mutt so things will be a lot quitter then the operation up in Gilbert. That’s what determines what my location away from the main station will be, the length of the power cable.

Can always use old network cable being I have tons of cat five that’s no longer good for anything but that just won’t look right.
