Hi Mark & Robert:

Yeah that epiphany hit me about 0300 this morning. Located some Hammond units at Antique Electronics Supply. I also have a source locally (just got an email from him) about several small analog PSUs in various states of disrepair and may make a deal for one of them. They are pretty simple to troubleshoot.

Thanks to both of you for replying.

Good morning Rich

Try searching for "12V Filament Transformer"; that brings up a lot of stuff to wade through.

Here's one possible source:

https://www.hammfg.com/electronics/transformers/power/166

Also, search for "toroidal transformer"; these are carried by all the big vendors (Mouser, Newark etc) and they are available in the secondary voltage and current ratings you're looking for.

You also may try putting a "Wanted" listing on qth.com<http://qth.com>. Additionally, the "Classifieds" section of the Antique Radio Forum (https://www.antiqueradios.com/) is always a good place to find parts.

I looked for "12V filament transformer" on eBay; bunch of stuff came up but I didn't work through it all.

Hope this helps OM....

I am perplexed.....I need a 120VAC to 12 or 15VAC power transformer capable of sustained output of 5A. I have been searching the interweb and all I can seem to find are "wal-warts", switching psu, and computer power supplies. The really sad part of this saga is that about 2 yrs ago I gave away a 1 cubic foot box of all sorts of power transformers!

So, does anyone out there in MilCom land happen to have a transformer that I can make an AC PSU capable of delivering 12-14VAC at 5 amps? If so, please contact me off-list and we'll set up a deal.

(And "yes" this is for my TRC-77A)
