I finally procured my 77A. It's dirty but easily restorable cosmetically.

A previous owner decided to modify the 12VDC power input by soldering DC wiring to the jack in the bottom of the radio. I cannot find a NSN (FSN) for this part. However, in the TM (kindly provided by Robert Downs, WA4CAB) I found the Cable Assembly, Power Electrical: an 8 ft long DC power cable to run the 77A from an external DC source (FSN: 5995-966-7411). Google is no help. Does anyone have a line on one of these cables?

That cable would solve the external power problem prior to getting the battery box fabricated.

Regarding the butchered DC power connector on the bottom of the case: I cannot find the NSN (FSN) for it. So, does anyone have a line on where I could procure same?

Failing all of this I will remove the DC power connector and wire directly to the power connector on the 77A chassis.

Vy 73 es gud DX!
