Gents:
The listing is for the ADVERT, not the radio itself. Or did I miss something?

Yes the BC-191 and the BC-375 have received bad press. If push to maximum, they FM pretty bad in a modern receiver. BC-348? You'll probably not notice. That said, if the San Luis Obispo alignment is done, and operating at not more 50-60 watts, the FM'ing can be tuned out via critical neutralization. However, this procedure is effective for only a very narrow band. QSY, and one needs to re-do the procudure. Of course, 160 and 80 are best, with things going downhill on 40. 20 meters is not recommended.

Think the BC-375 and 191 suffered a bad rep back then as an old design, was not capable of crystal control and if the operator was not skilled they chirped and had tons of other issues. The command sets or if you were able to score a ART-13 was the deal back then, but no one wanted those primitive MOPA sets. Most wanted a BC-348 and ART-13 or for simple to convert and use command sets.
Least that's what I think.

Look at all you get for $20. Even with inflation, one website estimates $20 from 1949 is equivalent to $219 today. Still a great deal in today's dollars, including tubes which today are valuable (to some).
