[MRCA] [MMRCG] Saturday 7/13 Net Report

Maybe been around the vehicle shows too much but everything on board the mutt is from the late sixties early seventies and have no desire to install the WW2 MAK on the mutt or have that as part of the rolling display. Thinking the MAK will be set up over on the display table for local 3885 work and possibly early Saturday net but that’s assuming I can throw together some form of good antenna for it. With 400 volts on the plate of the PA have not gotten much more then ten or so watts so without a good antenna system it just about useless for any long range work. Would be fun to have something that can net with the BC-611 and other assorted WW2 AM stuff and that’s kind of the point with the MAK all though I do have a much newer power supply in the heavily modified HP-13
I have my total receive drain down to around four to five amps in receive and just under fifteen in transmit. Starting to wonder if I would be better to just build AC supply and run that from a AC inverter? Figure that I am running around just over 60 watts load on the battery in receive and just under 200 watts in transmit using the home built power supplies. Wonder what it would be if I built an AC supply and powered it from an inverter?

Just look for a 24 to 12 converter, details at:

Trying to have the Navy MAK up and running for MVPA Show but the dilemma is that it’s a twelve volt radio and everything on the mutt is twenty four volts. May go to junk yard and buy old car battery just to run that set on 3885 at the tent.
