Thanks to all for the advice.
I had concluded that Dawn or Woolite would be best. This bag is just
dirty, not greasy. Dawn will probably work fine. The bag does have a
few holes but I will have to live with those.
I looked at some care guides for tack. Some recommended olive oil or
neetsfoot oil. Olive oil does not sound like a good idea for this. I
will see what leather care products are available locally.
