I know Dale has been talking it up during the Moose and Squirrel, but suggest more chatter so the day and time sinks into people's minds!! Everytime I get on seems to be the wrong night.. Thanks for continuing the net and nice to see some chatter!!

Subject: [MRCA] 75 Meter Rolling Net

I made a point to be around for the entire hour last night to attempt to see if the longer propagation might allow coast-to-coast contacts - and it did! This tends to prove the old saying about no one knows the band is open if everyone is just listening...

 From the east coast 0200Z half-hour, particpants included: KW1I, AB5GG, WB4WCJ, KK1K, W9RAN, KBØSFP, NN2K

KBØSFP was operating a Yaesu FT-70 packset at 20 watts and was not copyable at my location, but several of us held the frequency open for the next 1/2 hour til KE6ZIQ started up the weekly west coast net at 0400. By that time both he and KI6EZA had risen to good/strong-readable here in NW IL and I was able to check in with them as well using a Southcom SC-130D driving an amplifier with 300 watts output.

I know Dennis was heard on both coasts with his 20 watts although I could not hear the west coast station(s) he was talking to . The bottom line is, given the 75 meter propagation we have it's unlikely that everyone will everyone - but everyone will be heard by someone. So give it a try next week, 3996 kHz USB. Starting at 03:00Z on the East Coast, MRCA will call the net. At 03:30Z, net control will pass to MMRCG. At 04:00Z, net control will pass to the West Coast Military Radio Group. See who you can hear and be heard by as the net rolls across the country from east to west!

73, Bob W9RAN
