While I'll be the first to complain about the rotten low band
propagation we've been experience, last night was a notable exception
with solid copy from coast-to-coast and good readable or better.   My
100 watt SEA 322 marine radio into a vertical received good signal
reports from both east and west coasts.   The only problem was, Paul
WB4WCJ was the only station on from the east coast, and no one showed up
at 0300Z, although about 15 stations ended up participating in the West
Coast session that started about 1/2 hour early since there was no
reason not to. West coast net control KE6ZIQ from Minden NV was good
copy both in IL and SC.

I'd just encourage everyone in the east and midwest to continue checking
between 0300Z and 0400Z on 3996 Wed. nights if you can make it, as the
only sure way to know what the propagation is like is to put a radio on
the air.   If last night is any indication of improving conditions we
should be able to have some fun.
