Looks to me that’s all you need is to go from the data plug on the back of the UGC-74 to the loop one connector on the front of the MD-522, I intend to build up a cable that will come out of the data plug on the 74 going to the three pin loop one on the MD-522, think you also need a jumper from H to L on the UGC-74 end with K to A, S to B and G to C on the three pin connector.
Think the shelter systems all had a bunch of other connectors and stuff between for security equipment but I intend in having the UGC-74 and MD-522 being capable of up and running by themselves and not in an existing shelter network.
May build up a second long cable to carry the TTY loop fifty feet or so allowing the UGC to operate at some distance from the mutt, thought at first would do a long audio cable between the GRC-106 and the MD-522 but maybe it better to keep the modem next to the radio and remote the terminal. The biggest issue there will be stuffing the MD-522 into an already crowded mutt. On the VSC-2 they wedged the MD-522 behind the driver’s seat next to the GRC-106 with a DC power control panel just underneath.

No big deal at all, like I said just wanted to get it right. I have a second 74B which I can install in the GRC-142, just need the mounting materials, and have a mating connector now that we’ve determined it is a 16-26P. Now I have to figure out what connects it to the modem and make a cable. I suppose now I’ll have to say I have a GRC-122, right?

Ok, I get it .I was wrong. When I looked at the number on the side of the connector I did not have my glasses on, the light was bad, there was dirt on it, got distracted, whatever. It’s all my fault! Jeez you would think no one else ever made a mistake before.
Somehow did not see the huge 16-26 stamped in the center of the plug!
Have to look tonight because after all this it turns out that maybe I already have one of these connectors but if not will be buying the one on EBay.
Thanks, anyone have any thought s on a frequency? Would prefer something on 40 myself being that appears to have good daytime propagation. Also going to assume that 45.5 baud is 60 wpm?

One last try - Here is a $12.50 plug MS3116E16-26P that should mate with the MS3112 receptacle shown in Ray's photo

And in my defense, Ray's original email did indeed say -23S.

That’s what I get for using a phone for email. I got -23 from Ray’s initial email. Probably my dyslexic error. I am going to stick to GRAY teletypes and radios from here on.

It says 16-26 right on it.
