[MRCA] R-808?

Yes, it was an R-808 and sold for about $100. The R-808 was part of the 
Marine Corps GRC-14 setup.  I had one of these for a while.  The 
receiver is pretty broad and operationally unimpressive.  But, it looks 
neat.  I suppose one could re-do BOTH filter elements to get the 
required bandpass and shape.  If the intent is to get a complete GRC-14 
going, then maybe a real idea.  If to be used as a stand-alone RTTY 
receiver, The R-808 might not be the best solution.  That said, if you 
have one, by all means use it!!!  One does not see these receivers 
behind every tree...
