I requested a SITREP from Bud who has attended our MRCA meets at
Gilbert. His QTH is on the " Big Island" and I've quoted his answer below.
---------------------------------------------------------
Aloha Z,

The eruption zone in Leilani is 9-10 RF miles from us, and the Kilauea
crater is about 15 RF miles away. All of the fissure eruption is
occurring right along the rift zone, so no worry for us. And if Kilauea
blows, they're anticipating a maximum fallout radius of 3 mi. So again
no worry for us. That said, Madame Pele doesn't RTFM the volcanologists
may have written. She'll do her own thing! Rest assured, some time in
the next 20k years, give or take, we'll all get covered again!

If you go on the OMRN, please say HI to the gang for me.

Thanks es 73, BUD.

PS - a great site for maps of the activity are at 'usgslavamaps'.
