The UK VMARS website has a wealth of technical documention on various WS38 sets, all freely available for immediate download.  An example is this training document for WS38 MK I, II, and II*:

I have a W.S. No. 38 MK III set that differs quite noticeably from earlier Marks, plus an older MK II set.
