[MRCA] Lightning does strike twice!

Last week, a W9 friend came by with an ARC-5 receiver that quit on him.  After a bit of inspection, nothing untoward was evident at first glance.  Touching to tube envelopes, however, revealed two cold turkeys.  One of the series pair had an open filament.  Problem solved.  Last evening, I was finishing up (sic) my ARC-2 project.  I had a weak audio driver and a pair of so-so 1625 modulators.  All is really good, now, with clean, 100% modulation.  Putting it back together and hooking it all back up for final test.... receiver was dead.  Once again, found an open receiver tube filament... What's the chances of two unrelated filament failures in a week?Jeep K3HVG
