Arrived Wednesday at 1300, not much going on and too early to set up my
vendor spot. Back on site at 0700 Thursday and set up my vendor spot, very
busy day, lots of vendors and MV's arriving. I purchased a nice RT-524 for
$85, needed a new microphone and a squelch board to bring up to snuff.
Operated the PRC-74 at noon on the M&S net, great signals from all.
Friday was another busy day with only a couple of vendors spaces vacant,
at least 50 MV's on site. Saturday was slower, as I suspect a lot of
people don't like having to ride a bus in to the site. Got busy and forgot
about the M&S at noon. Traded two AM-2060 dog bone cables for a R-442
receiver, tag said "works low volume". Initial power up in the KK1K
shelter showed it to be dead, I discovered when I got home the internal
mode switch was turned to "XMODE", switched to "NORMAL" and it powered up
and works great.
Radio gear at the show seemed to be the usual, nothing exciting, about 3
WWII pieces, PRC-6's, 25's/77's and VRC sets. Saw one 77 priced at $475,
no prices that I noticed on the other equipment.
MRCA activity took place on Friday with a channel 3 field op, afterwards
broke out the helmet radio's which worked great, finally URC-4 op's.
Thanks to Dale KW1I for organizing the activity. Will post some more
pictures in continuing threads.
Angry 9 looked to be ham hacked.
