The old family had carbon mikes and the large twist on connector.  The newer stuff with the small audio connector were/are lo-z dynamic.  The last of the most prolific old family carbon handsets was the H-33/PT.  Many of the newer handsets are not repairable (easily) as they are sealed or molded.Jeep K3HVG

the h138 was the original handset used with the vrc12 and prc25 early vietnam era.  the h250 was improved with i believe more water resistance and noise cancelling
