The hand crank generator is great for field demonstrations but kinda hard
for troubleshooting and tuning unless you have a good buddy with some
endurance to crank for you.  I have used the gas engine generator out in
the field, too.  This dyno is nice at home or at events where you have a
vehicle handy as it runs off 12V.

Here's a couple pictures.   $100 plus shipping from NJ
