I’ll have to see if I have some spare vibrators for my PE-104s I can convert. The BC-654 is a fun set to operate. It was also fun to put it all together. I do have 1 PE-104 that is too far gone to restore, so it gets converted to use as a battery when I get the time to do that.

All have inoperable vibrators now, so I will be looking into using the solid state conversion to get my 284 set back on the air again. Enjoyed your video. I am fairly certain that the operator of the 284 in the fifth photograph of the slide show at the beginning of the video was (now SK) W1NU, Vic Poltiti, of Fairfield,CT. Vic was a regular on the Old Miitary Radio Net with among other sets, a beautiful near mint condition 284 set. The picture in the video was taken in North Africa and apparently first was published in Life magazine, or another magazine during the war. Vic operated 284s in the ETO all the way from North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Utah Beach on D-Day, and into Germany.
