[MRCA] Navajo Code Talkers

After a recent visit to the Southwest US and a riveting talk by Peter 
MacDonald who is currently the youngest Navajo Code Talker left out of 
the original 400-ish I am left with a big question.

As a new devotee to the green radio world, I'd be very curious to hear 
what they used for radios in the field. Unfortunately my time with Peter 
was quite limited and at the tender age of 89 his hearing was limited, 
so I was unable to ask him what he used for gear. I did get a nice 
autograph from him, but still my question is..

What did the Navajo Code Talkers use for radios during World War II?
