[MRCA] M&S Net and Able Archer

Managed to miss out on the M&S Net and Archer Able 83 this weekend, not for a lack of trying but after driving up to port Clinton and having issues using the mutt on state game lands with the park people then discovered that the GRC-106 that I tested last weekend decided to go belly up. Pulled the radio and reseated all the sub-assemblies but that did not do anything and yesterday after I got home discovered that the reference oscillator assembly died. Despite the fact that both test points show the outputs the radio refuses to work with that reference oscillator assembly. Pulled that oscillator from another that I had at home and that fixed it but that did not give me any satisfaction Saturday out in the field.  Worst thing is that we were attempting to do a QSO with a museum ship and having to result to running a little 20 watt radio just was not doing it and know that the big output of the 106 would have solved that problem. Well there is always next year.
