Hi Bob - That is a pet peeve of mine as well.  We often try to use "Channel 3" out here, mostly with PRC-47's, the only 60 meter channel those "1 kc" sets can use on that band as you pointed out..  

It seems there is almost always some digital signalling going on for hours at a time.  JT65 I guess..  

Since we are not supposed to use a frequency when someone else is using it, it effectively ties up that very valuable channel for lots of other people.  With their low data rate it seems to go on endlessly, a poor utilization of that spectrum IMHO.

We can hear it out here most of the day, stronger in the afternoons.  One guy occasionally ID's with a W4 callsign on CW.  Otherwise I can't decode it with this equipment.

Yes, we need to share the resource but that should be a 2-way street.
