[MRCA] BC-348R on the chopping block

The BC-348R that I have has no power supply & no dynamotor. Sorry.

I took a magnet and the case is all aluminum which explains why with age & temperature/humidity swings the paint has flaked off. I see no metal undercoat, no zinc primer or whatever.

All it has is the four capture pins on the bottom for a mount (if you had one) and an indentation where the Jones connector from the power unit would go.

Thanks for the interest guys,

Doug W5JV

Hi Doug, What does it have as far as a power supply, AC or Dynamotor? I'm working on one now that's in need of one or the other.

Thanks,

Mark

I have what I think is a complete, original BC-348R (R as in Radio).

The front panel paint is awful, mostly falling off or not there. The panel may be aluminum which would suggest some cause. I think with some care, the front panel could be resprayed and then either stenciled or hand lettered.

Will send a picture or two to anyone interested. Might be a good parts set or might me a good receiver in the right hands. Not free but I'm easy. Fair price plus shipping from the Gulf Coast.

Cheers,

Doug W5JV
