That tuner is a bit more than a tuner. Its also the low side of the PA tank circuit. In 1965, Page Airways at DCA still had a mock-up for the 18-S. I was told that AF and airline techs disliked the radio owing to the laborious procedure to change frequency and tune the unit. There was a big box of tuning elements that were thrown out. It’s a ten preset tuner for the 18S-4 HF transceiver. What’s more impossible to find then the radio and antenna tuner? The mounts.
