Space is one thing we got plenty of! If this event works out maybe next year we can have a large tent set up in advance so we are not just out in the open.

Ray,
If you have space for me I will be able to attend Friday only. I work Thursday and have a boy scout RMB class on Saturday. I would like to setup my prc47 in packset configuration (I'll charge up the batteries). I will use the vertical antenna on the radio. See you then.

The Annual East Coast Military Vehicle Rally sponsored by the WAC/B&G MVT Chapter of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA) will be coming up in one month.
The Military Radio Collectors Association (MRCA) will have two spaces (A11/12) right up in the front row of the event to allow members to bring out and show there equipment.
I will have the M151A1 A.K.A. Self-Propelled AN/GRC-106 there and am planning on maybe dragging out some additional items for display.
The idea is to set up items to demonstrate to the people that will be there, Military Vehicle Owners, collectors, re-enactors and the general public the ability to use Military communications equipment on the Ham bands. Something along the lines of what we already do at Gilbert each year.
The event will be May 11 – 13, 2017: 44th Annual East Coast Rally at Aberdeen’s Ripken Stadium, Exit 85 on I-95. Free admission.
The spaces are located right on the first row by the entrance from the parking lot. There is a small section of grass between the parking lot and the row that will allow small antennas to be set up. I am planning on using my push up mast and running an inverted V for HF operation. I will also have the VRC-12 operational on 51.0 and if there is any interest in doing a FM net beyond the local site can bring out my Log Periodic for 51.0
Anyone interested in participating at the event would be welcome but they will have to provide their own set up being everything is outside. I have a pop up car tent and may bring that also but if you come remember that you will have to provide your own table and chairs being the WAC/B&G MVT is only providing us the space.
I intend to be operating on the Moose & Squirrel Net on Saturday and possibly Thursday from that site. If anyone wants to organize a pack radio or other type of net at the event we can always put something together being I have radios for almost every band and intend to be there all three days. The only restriction that applies is, No sales of any kind will be permitted from the spaces that MRCA is being provided. NO Exceptions! If you want to sell at Aberdeen you will have to purchase your own space at the event.
MRCA will be up at the MTA Military Vehicle Show and Swap Meet at Sussex County Fairgrounds that’s a couple weeks before this event but I think that maybe this will give us members in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia something closer to attend and play around with prior to the big event at Gilbert. Anyone interested can email me directly and also view the link to the rally in general at:
