[MRCA] Manhattan Project - Secret City Festival - Special Event Station N4M

I would like to invite MRCA members and hams with an interest in Military
Radio equipment, or the Manhattan Project, to contact the Oak Ridge Amateur
Radio Club's (ORARC) Special Event Station, N4M, this weekend.  

 

The "Secret City Festival" Special Event Station N4M, will be operating
beginning 9 June, 1200 EDT, through 11 June, 1200 EDT, conditions and
operators permitting.  

 

Target frequencies: 3.996, 7.190, 14.285, 51.000 and others as conditions
permit. May by USB on HF frequencies, depending on equipment being used. 

 

Operations will be from the field, in collaboration with the festival and a
large WWII battle reenactment. This event recognizes the achievements of the
City of Oak Ridge, TN, in the Manhattan Project during WWII, and the Cold
War. This event also recognizes the first year of the new Manhattan Project
National Historical Park. Supported by Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club and
Roane County Amateur Radio Club. Operations will be partially on vintage
military radio equipment, including SCR-284, GRC-9, GRC-19, GRC-106 and
others.  Modes may include AM, USB, CW, and FM (6-meter band).

A QSL card with be issued with National Park Service Passport stamps hand
stamped on the card. 

 

The Secret City Festival event recognizes the achievements of the City of
Oak Ridge, TN, as part of the Manhattan Project during WWII, and the Cold
War. This event also recognizes the first year of the new Manhattan Project
National Historical Park by activating NPOTA unit HP50.
