[MRCA] 2016 MRCA Meet Announcement

I am planning on being there and have just finished installing the class three tow hitch on my truck to use a car trailer to drag the self-propelled AN/GRC-106 radio that I used up in Aberdeen this spring. Lots of improvements over the summer including installation of a upgraded 60 Amp alternator, VRC-12 set up and improved DC distribution.
Wonder if it would be possible for me to operate as the net control for M&S net on Saturday? The advantage of the 106 being self- propelled is that I can set up away from the interference that plagues the Howell building.
And now that there is a functioning VRC-12 system on board would be interested if anyone would want to try playing around with distant contacts on 51.0? I have a AS-2851 Log Periodic kit that may be the answer for longer range FM communications, just need to know headings.

Subject: [MRCA] 2016 MRCA Meet Announcement

Planning is underway for the MRCA Meet at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert, PA on Sept 16-17 (set up on Sept.15). As usual our meet is concurrent with the Red Ball Military Transport Club Annual Rally and Swap Meet.

Please plan to bring some treasure from your military radio stash to demo and display in the Howell Bldg. Remember to bring your own table, chair, camo netting, sandbags, etc. Don’t forget to put a fresh charge in your pack set and field radio batteries. Plan to do an on air set up of your portable stations at home before you come to make sure you don’t forget some important component.

More details about the event will be sent out on this reflector in the days to come and the MRCA website (http://www.mrca.ar88.net/) will be updated at that time with the same info.

Please send me an email to kw1i at earthlink.net<mailto:kw1i at earthlink.net> if you plan to come this year so I can get working on the badges.
