I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread. Some really good
back and forth came out of the voltage thread. 

I had a crack at it again today and focused on the servo amplifier module. I
checked the tubes and found one of the 5751 bad. I also pulled the chopper
and setup it up on the bench and attempted to observe the output on my
scope. It's dead. Considering it's mechanical, it's age and how it works I'm
not surprised it's failed. There is a schematic in the manual to make a
solid state one. So tubes and parts and then we'll go from there.
