[MRCA] Hammarlund RBG-2 oil?

Hello folks,
My RBG-2 has been in the same spot for over a year. I recently built a new
op position for my gear and i moved the rig only to find a bunch of wax and
oil. The bottom cover is steel  with a plating of copper and then tin.

The oil/wax mixture ate thru the tin and in some places thru the copper to
the steel. After scraping sanding and primimg, I have it reinstalled.

What worries me is the caps. How long will they last without oil?
What is a suitable replacement for them?
