If you find those little audio amplifiers as handy as I do, and don't 
mind (or maybe prefer) to build your own, they're dirt-cheap on eBay.

There are many others, higher power, etc.   It's also worth checking out 
the China sellers for DC-DC converters, LED panels, voltage-current 
meters, and other goodies that come in handy with playing with radios in
