Aloha Breck,

You might try a more exotic (and safer) keying method with your pogo stick,
one that Tom (W2ILA) pulled off, c. Feb 2003 on a very cold Sunday eve on
the 3570 kc CW OMRN, by putting a J-38 between a long piece of wire and his
BC-221 freq meter. He was weak, but sounded great! I miss you guys...

Subject: [MRCA] Pogo Stick CW keying Sunday Night

I've had several email with queries about how I keyed the Pogo Stick to
check in to the CW net. I just lifted the B plus wire and inserted a
straight key and keyed the entire transmitter and all of its stages. Key
was hot with B plus but only 120 volts. Sorry If I disappointed those
interested as I did not not do something more exotic. Maybe when
conditions improve this winter I might try the Oh Dark Thirty Sat
morning net with the Pogo on AM "with carrier." The modulation on the
set is excellent.
Z
