Radio Station KW1I kw1i at earthlink.net
Fri Jul 10 16:24:38 EDT 2015

The Maritime Radio Historical Society (MHRS) is again sponsoring the “The Night of Nights” event this Sunday.
Historic coast stations KPH, KFS, KSM, WLO, and KLB will be operational. USCG stations NMC, NMW and NMQ will return to the air; possibly for the last time. Most of these from their original location with original equipment. A list of stations and frequencies across the shortwave bands are listed in Newsletter 51 below and additional late breaking news on the event is in Newsletter 51a. This is a shortwave listener event as you see how many of these stations can be logged with your receiving set up. There is some associated amateur radio activity which is detailed in the newsletters.
These are CW stations that will frequently send out their call signs. Even if you are not an experienced CW op it’s easy to identify because you know the frequency and you know the the call sign so you should be able to pick that three letter group out of the identifier. Occasionally a longer message is sent from these stations during this event.
Most of these stations can be easily received on the East Coast.
Have fun!
