[MRCA] M/S Net on Yaesu FT-920

No better way to spend three hours or go deaf then cranking up a 106 in a small metal box in the middle of winter! The question is what's worse, being in a S-250 shelter when its freezing cold or when its boiling hot? Wish I had one to find out for myself. Got the 106 but intend to install that on the back of the M-151 this spring and try operating that way.

Subject: [MRCA] M/S Net on Yaesu FT-920

I have been racking my brain trying to get my FT-920 on 60 meters. (I know this would be sacrilege on the M/S net) I could use my GRC-106 in the comm shelter but it would take 3 hours to get it warmed up as it's in the shelter parked next to the driveway. The '920 is in the nice warm
house(-15 tonight here). Does anyone have the MARS / CAP mod instructions for a US Yaesu FT-920? I've found the 'green wire mod'
instructions and they won't work with this radio as there isn't a green wire and the number given doesn't work either. I've heard the EPROM flash procedure will turn the radio into a doorstop. I e-mailed Yaesu and the tech there insists I have a MARS CAP license in order to get the instructions even though he's allegedly a ham and doesn't seem to comprehend that I just want to use it on 60m. Anyone out there that could help me will be appreciated.
