A caution - any of the new component testers will not tolerate a large
value capacitor that has not been fully _discharged_ as they are
sensitive to voltage. I personally would never measure a large value
cap in one of these units. An example of a large value capacitor is a
cap that is in the uF range for instance a 10 uF cap that would be used
in a power supply filter.
But for $15 bucks I guess we can take a chance. :-)
These devices really come in handy when winding coils and you have a
target inductance in mind much easier that using a impedance bridge.
Just wind and measure then add or reduce turns.
