A story on the B26 bomber "Flak Bait" is found in the latest issue of Smithsonian's Air & Space magazine. "Flak Bait" completed 130 missions and was crated up after the war and sent back to the US. The nose and cockpit were put on display in 1976 in the WWII gallery in the museum on the National Mall. Now the whole plane is being reassembled, bullet holes and all by the museum. The article included a picture of a segment of the fuselage that housed the radio operator's position. Sherman Best, the person in the photo 71 years ago flew 14 combat missions as pilot of "Flak Bait".
