Hearing some really decent signals down here in Chickenland.
Loudest sigs were W1NZR, NN2K, NZ5L and as always N3OD and Joe Wa2EJT.
The mobile station N1SNG did a good job and WA2WOL at the end was fairly
loud.
Brown's use of the Collins 618 system that was installed in the M151A1
brought back memories, that jeep was a mess, once the radio was
installed that was it, no more room for anything but it was a big deal,
reliable HF comms at forward sites and we just opened the doors and let
it roll out, they would be on the air in minutes. Then they started
installing the set in FAC aircraft and the pilots all wished they could
trade the increased weight for fuel not a radio or better yet reduce
the weight for better performance when pulling out of those valleys .
