Ah-so, you have four controls on the front of your tuner, three (3) for capacitors and one for the inductor.  I thought you meant ganging two caps together to make one dual unit.  This is  what is shown in the 1991 ARRL Antenna Handbook version of the SPC circuit.   I’ve always used a dual cap in the various versions of this tuner I’ve constructed and used over the years.  Apparently having the extra adjustment available is an advantage  in some cases.  Good to know.
