Via an estate pre-clearing, I have ended up with some spares cases.
Specifically, I have two large Navy spares boxes, both approx.
23"x20"x15. One is a simple box with hinged top and securing fasteners,
the other has a series of top stacked shelves with dividers for parts.
These boxes are marked "CVE-60" and "RADIO SPARES", which indicates the
USS Guadalcanal, I believe. They are free to anyone who can genuinely
use them. The only caveat is that you've got to come and get
them...... while they're hot!
I also have a Signal Corps chest with an almost complete set of BC-610
coils and tuning units. Coils for 80, 40, and 20 meters are included
and in surprisingly excellent condition. Inasmuch as I'll probably not
be getting a '610 anytime soon, I'm open to offers and/or trades for
this chest of accessories. I am not certain, however, that this Signal
Corps box is the "correct" one for the SCR-399. Anyway, I'm located
about 45 minutes west of Baltimore, MD. for pick-up info.
