[MRCA] Something Does Not Belong?

How about the leather handle on the top of the 1306?  Browsing through  
Google Images saw most examples had something different on top but the  
leather handles , if not an authorized mod, were certainly widely  
implemented.  Also the power cable to the 1306 doesn't look quite  
right.  Home brew maybe?
